Columns And Booms

Base: The base is of robust heavy construction to give maximum rigidity. The base design permits free-standing operation of the machine, even when the Boom is fully elevated and extended. The base can be fixed stationary or motorized with fixed speed or variable speed to travel on track. Column: Consisting of an extremely rigid box section and is provided with machined sideways for the saddle elevation. The Column is supported on a swivel bearing permitting 360° degrees smooth rotation of Column. Column locking clamps are provided to secure it when the boom mounted welding head is positioned for welding. Boom: Boom are designed with high section modules to minimise sagging of Boom when fully extended. The Boom runs horizontally on the guide rollers fitted on a heavy mast plate (saddle). The guide rollers are fitted with centric pins for perfect alignment and adjustment of the Boom. Saddle elevation is achieved through AC motors with heavy reduction gear boxes and duplex chain. Electromagnetic brake is provided with the motor. Counter weight is provided inside the column for counter balancing the weight of saddle plate, Boom with welding head. One Anti-Fall device misfitted with the saddle plate. In case of chain failure the complete Boom will be locked instantly with the column to avoid any accident.

Column & Boom

Standard Features: • Variable speed horizontal boom travel by DC motor thyristorised control. • Fixed speed AC Motorized drive for vertical lift of the boom. • 360° manual rotation of the column around its axis • Vertical lift speed: 1500 mm/min. Horizontal speed of boom travel infinitely, variable between 75 to 1500 mm/min. • Electrical as well as mechanical limiting mechanisms against overriding. • Anti-Fall mechanism in case of chain failure • Roller bearings with a centric pin mounting for adjustment of guiding pressure • Input power supply: 415V AC. 3phase, 50/60 Hz Highlights: • Sophisticated thyrstorised control ensured soft start and dynamic braking of motor. • High-rated contractors for AC motor.
